Scar-Guard

Scar-Guard is designed to protect field joint and mainline coatings from the mechanical stresses and scarring associated with horizontal directional drilling (HDD), boring and micro-tunneling of pipelines. It is a composite abrasion resistant overcoat comprised of fiberglass cloth and pre-impregnated flexible resin activated by water and cured within minutes.

As Scar-Guard has been unavailable for a long time, in 2021, we developed our own three-way woven solid fiber for the HDD use, OrtoGuard HDD. OrtoGuard HDD has become the standard for horizontal directional drilling in the Czech and Slovak Republics since then.
